Dileep and Manju Warrier to file joint divorce petition

Trivandrum, July 25 (): Malayalam actor couple Manju Warrier and Dileep have decided to file joint divorce request in their effort to reduce the burdensome legal process, reports said on Wednesday. In the meantime, Dileep will withdraw his earlier divorce petition submitted at Ernakulam Family Court.

The 45-year-old actor Dileep submitted a divorce petition on June 5, seeking ending of his marital life with 35-year-old wife, Manju Warrier. The hearing for the petition was put on the table on July 23, Wednesday. The couple failed to come to the family court for divorce proceedings. The hearing has now been postponed to August 16.

Nowadays, the divorce processes have become easy and the couple will be given a divorce just within 6 months’ period. However, Dileep and Manju will be sent for mandatory counselling sessions by the court.

The divorce rumours of Manju and Dileep had started when the actress started to do several dance performances. Later, Dileep put a close to the rumours and filed a petition seeking divorce. Reports said Manju has also decided to return the properties that were jointly possessed by them during their marriage period of 14 years.

Manju and Dileep got married in 1998; during her marriage, Manju was at the peak of her career. She started acting in 1995. She has done notable films like “Sallapam”, “Kannezhuthi Pottum Thottu”, “Summer in Bethlehem, “Ee Puzhayum Kadannu”, “Krishnagudiyil Oru Pranaykalathu”, “Thooval Kottaram” and “Aaram Thamburan” among other films.

In this just four years’ period of her acting, she had won a National Film Award- Special Jury Award for her enactment in “Kannezhuthi Pottum Thottu”, Kerala State Award for the film “Ee Puzhayum Kadannu” and two Filmfare awards. After her marriage, she put a halt to her acting in movies and focused all her attention on her family alone.

Manju made a comeback to film industry after 14 years with the movie, “How Old Are you?”(2014) directed by Rosshan Anddrews.

Meanwhile, Dileep has just finished “Avatharam” with veteran director Joshiy and the film is set to release on 1 August.
