Hate Story 2 will increase Karnataka rapes, say MLAs

Bangalore, July 23 (): Karnataka lawmakers cutting across party lines have discovered that films like ‘Hate Story 2′ is instrumental for the public to commit rape.

As Karnataka is reeling under rape cases, its housing minister Ambareesh at a public function had showered his appreciation on a woman IAS officer’s beauty who attended the event.

Karnataka CM asked the media whether they had nothing to ask other than the rape of a six year old student in the city school. The legislators said that the Hindi film ‘Hate Story 2′ had content that would make the men to rape women. Even those who did not see the film would get inspired to rape a woman after seeing the posters, said the lawmakers.

Now, the newly appointed City Commissioner has been told by Karnataka Home Minister to see the film in company of another officer and submit a report on whether the film will increase the tendency of males especially in Bangalore to rape girls and women.

Interestingly, the film is about a politician forcibly keeping a girl as a mistress and her revenge game. The film as per trade pundits is the number one grosser of the films released this Friday. As Bangalore theatres screening this film are going houseful and in other theatres in Karnataka, it has to be seen whether rape cases will increase and topple the record held by UP.

Ambareesh, the actor turned politician who is now Housing minister was floored by a young IAS woman officer posted in Mandya, his constituency. Attending a public function he praised the bold and beautiful quality of the woman officer. His fans clapped and cheered him while the officer squirmed in her seat.

Incidentally, Congress trailed heavily in Mandya in LS poll where actress Ramya contested the seat which she won in a by-poll. Ambareesh as Housing minister had castigated Ramya for not working in the constituency, instead being more on Twitter. The minister is in another controversy of the Karnataka government footing his Rs 1.8 crore medical bill at a Singapore hospital. The limit set by the Karnataka government is Rs 5 lakhs.

Ambareesh took his entire  distant and close family to Singapore. Lok Ayukta is investigating the Housing minister acquiring some prime plots.
