Chennai, July 19 (): Tamil Nadu box office is likely to witness a huge clash during this Deepavali as Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan’s ‘Uttama Villain’ and Illayathalapathy Vijay’s ‘Kaththi’ are likely to release.
It is confirmed Vijay’s “Kaththi” will release for Deepavali in October. Now, the latest reports say Kamal Haasan’s “Uttama Villain” will also be released as a Deepavali treat. Also, Vishal’s “Poojai” is releasing for Deepavali.
The clash at box office between Vijay and Kamal previously happened in 2005, when Kamal’s Mumbai Express released along with Vijay’s Sachein. Also Superstar Rajinikanth’s Chandramukhi joined the competition.
Reports from Uttama Villain film unit say the shooting has been almost completed and the film is likely to be wrapped up by the end of July. The post-production works of the film will start once the shooting is over. It appears that the comedy-drama is certainly looking for a Deepavali release. But, no official declaration has been made about “Uttama Villain” release date.
“Uttama Villain” is directed by Ramesh Aravind, in which Kamal Haasan will play dual roles – one as a drama actor (Uttaman) of 8th century and another as a film star (Manoranjan) of 21st century. The film also features Pooja Kumar, Jayaram, Urvashi, Andrea Jeremiah, M.S.Bhaskar Nassar, Parvathi Menon and director Balachander and K.Vishwanath are featured in pivotal roles.
Also, Vijay will be seen in a double role in Kaththi. The action-entertainer is directed by Murugadoss. The movie also features Samantha, Bollywood actor Neil Nitin Mukesh and comedian Sathish in other key roles.
The action-packed entertainer of Vishal, “Poojai” is directed by Hari. The film features Shruti Haasan in the lead lady role, while Sathyaraj, Prathap Pothen, Soori, Radhika Sarathkumar, Kausalya and Sithara form parts of its star cast. The director is popular for making fast-paced movies and so, “Poojai” is also expected to be a complete commercial potboiler similar to that of his past releases.
