Lucknow,July 13 (): Shirdi Sai Baba idol went missing in a temple in Uttar Pradesh’s Deoria town’s famous Deorahi temple.
Shirdi Sai Baba followers said that the town’s local administration removed the idol due to the pressure from the Akhil Bharatiya Hindu Mahasabha. Mahasabha is said to be implementing the Sankararcharya’s call to remove the Shird Sai Baba as he says that the worshipping is anti-Hinduism.
Sankaracharya has been repeatedly saying that Shirdi Sai Baba is a Muslim fakir and not a god or a saint. Responding to the call, the Nagasadhus have come forward to meet and discuss the strategy.
Shirdi Sai Baba followers have decided to make a counter movement to resist the Mahasabha movement to remove the idol of their saint. District administration are caught on the wrong foot as they have no clue as to where the idol has gone.
Mahasabha on the other hand said it has no hand in the missing idol and are on a dharna against the administration who they say are trying to retrieve the idol and install it in the temple.
Hindu Mahasabha members stormed Deorahi temple on July 7 and tried to remove the idol, in support of Swami Swaroopanand Saraswati the Shankaracharya of Dwarka Peeth.
Shirdi Sai Baba followers turned up and resisted the Mahasabha and finally police had to use force and arrest the sabha members. Following this, the Mahasabha members started a dharna in front of SP office. The dharna was to remove the idol and on July 11, the idol had gone missing.
Mahasabha changed the demand to protest against the police trying to locate the idol and install it. Police says that it has no hand in the missing idol and the priest says that two persons installed the idol a decade ago. These two can only throw light on the idol and they are away in Haridwar.
