Mundasupatti off to a dream start at box-office,collects Rs 3.1cr in opening weekend

Chennai, June 18 (): Fox Star Studios and C.V. Kumar’s Thirukumaran Entertainment’s Mundasupatti has taken to a dream start at the Box Office.

The film notched up 3.1 Crs in its opening weekend, which infact is the highest ever opening for a C.V. Kumar film. Considering the fact that all previous films under the banner of C.V. Kumar being big successes, it’s an extremely proud moment for both Fox Star Studios and Thirukumaran Entertainment.

With 5 back-to back hits for both Fox Star Studios and Thirukumaran Entertainment, the studio and the production house have emerged as a trend setter in not only showcasing great content but going all out to bring these powerful stories to the audiences.

Fox Star Studios has delivered hits like Engaeyum Eppothum, Vathikuchi, Raja Rani and Cuckoo back to back, ever since its debut in Tamil cinema in 2011, while C.V. Kumar has delivered hits including Attakathi, Pizza, Soodhu Kavvum and Thegidi, since his debut in in 2012.

Based on an award-winning short film, Mundasupatti is a hilarious comedy, set in the 1980s, and has won tremendous applaud from the film fraternity with leading film makers and actors including superstar Rajnikanth praising the film.

Ever since the release of the film on Friday, twitter has been abuzz with audiences calling the film- “a laugh riot” and “the best comedy ever”! The film has also garnered acclaim for the film’s debutant director Ram Kumar, music director Sean Roldan and actors Vishnu and Nandita.

Mundasupatti has also given two potential comedy superstars in Kaali Venkat and Ramdoss (Muniskanth) to Tamil Nadu. With such a tremendous word of mouth, the film is expected have a great run at the Tamil Nadu Box Office.
