Mumbai, May 29 (): Bollywood actress Rani Mukerji restarted shooting for YRF’s ‘Mardaani’ after taking a short break for her marriage with filmmaker Aditya Chopra. The new bride tied the knot in a private ceremony to filmmaker Aditya Chopra in Italy.
The actress is currently acting in Pradeep Sarkar’s ‘Mardaani’. The movie is in half way of its making. Rani Mukerji returned back to the sets of Mardaani post her marriage to finish the left over portions of the movie.
Director Pradeep Sarkar confirmed the most recent development of the movie. He said that the shoot of Mardaani started in Mumbai on May 28 and it will be the last schedule of the film. Mardaani is the most anticipated movie of YRF. Under YRF banner, Mardaani is said to be the grittiest and boldest theme till date. Through Mardaani, Sarkar has shifted to a raw and bold subject from his usual genres of romance and family drama.
Rani Mukherji will be playing a role of a policewoman in the movie, named Shivani Shivaji Roy. Being a cop at Mumbai Crime Branch, her life changes once she takes up a risky case. Rani plays such a bold role for the first time in her career.
After her secret marriage with Aditya, Rani had stayed away from media. She came out only in early May to host a reception bash for the close family members and friends of the couple. Some biggest names in the Bollywood film industry like Vaibhavi Merchant, Karan Johar, Anupam Kher and Kirron attended the bash.
The actress became famous with her appearance in Karan Johar’s ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’. Her acting prowess in the movie was superb and the role had created a special place for her in B-Town. She has also won some awards including a National Award for ‘Black’.
