Rani Mukerji, Aditya Chopra host first dinner in Mumbai

Mumbai, May 7 (): Newlywed Rani Mukerji and Aditya Chopra hosted their first dinner together in Mumbai on Sunday, May 4, 2014. Many Bollywood celebrities were spotted at the party.

Aditya Chopra and Rani Mukerji had a quite wedding on 21 April, 2014 in Italy. Soon after they got married, Yash Raj Studios released a statement about their wedding; later, Rani Mukerji also shared the good news with her fans.

Very near family members and particular friends including choreographer Vaibhavi Merchant and Karan Johar had attended their wedding and the couple hosted a private dinner in Mumbai for their loved ones.

Again the main guest to attend the dinner on May 3 at the couple’s Mumbai residence was filmmaker Karan Johar, who was seen in an embroidered white sherwani. KJo is an old friend of both bride and groom. He has appeared in the Aditya Chopra-directed Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jaynge and has directed Rani in Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna and Kuch Kuch Hota Hai.

Actress Kirron Kher attended the party along with her husband Anupam Kher. Kirron looked dashing in a blue flowered sari, accessorized with matching jewellery and silver colour beads bag whereas Anupam wore a navy blue T-shirt paired with beige trousers.

Other celebrities who attended the party were Siddharth Kak, his wife Geeta Siddharth, singer Nitin Mukesh, BR Chopra and his grandsons Kapil and Abhay. Ravi Chopra was not spotted as he was unwell to attend the dinner. Rani Mukerji’s brother Raja graced the occasion.

Aditya Chopra agreed to host a dinner for close friends and relatives after his mother Pam Chopra convinced him.

A friend of Chopra said the dinner was Pam’s idea. Adi was completely opposed to this idea of hosting a wedding reception. As Pam Chopra was keen in calling friends and relatives, Aditya could not say no to his mother. The dinner has been arranged after Aditya returned with Rani from Italy as an official couple.
