No full time politics for me says Priyanka Gandhi

New Delhi, May 6 (): Priyanka Gandhi today categorically rubbished reports that she was entering politics. Her campaign in Amethi and Rae Bareli where her brother Rahul and mother Sonia are contesting has grabbed TV attention as any clips featuring her are getting high TRPs.

Priyanka Gandhi’s style of campaigning has electrified the party workers and her face-off with Modi has won her brownie points. Media started comparing Priyanka Gandhi to her grandmother Indira Gandhi who exudes charm but is yet an aggressive politician.

Priyanka Gandhi has always limited her role in electioneering to campaigning for her brother and mother. The contest this time got more intense as Modi and AAP had concentrated on the Gandhi bastion. Her taking on Modi on the allegations about her husband and sharp retorts gave the impression that Priyanka Gandhi was the next in line to take an active role in Congress decision-making.

There were reports that Priyanka Gandhi was to campaign in Varanasi. Arun Jaitley too admitted that Priyanka Gandhi has out shadowed Rahul. In backdrop of this, Priyanka Gandhi made it clear that she has no intention of entering politics. Priyanka Gandhi also made an impartial assessment saying that the poll verdict will be a fractured one and that no party would have a single majority in the Lok Sabha polls.

Priyanka Gandhi’s campaign has paid off for Rahul and Congress across the country and her flaunting of her family’s secular backdrop and a war of words with Modi made it look that she was preparing for a political debut. She was also in charge of the party war room and meeting top bosses.

Priyanka Gandhi’s hairstyle and her sharp features are said to be similar that of her grandmother. Many feel that if Priyanka Gandhi had been made the campaign in-charge, then the party would have done wonders.

One section of the party feels that Congress heading for a debacle should not put Priyanka in limelight as the outcome could harm her too. The party feels that her role limited to two constituencies was wrong.
