Mumbai, Apr 23 (): The 15th Annual IIFA weekend kick-starts at Tampa Bay in Florida on April 23 and concludes on 26. The International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Awards will lend the colour, splendour and glamour of Bollywood to the city from this Wednesday.

IIFA is an annual festivity of the Hindi film industry abroad. This is the first time, the festival is taken to US. The organisers of the awards function said the gala will be “bigger and better” than ever before.

The event’s organiser and the director of Wizcraft International Entertainment, Sabbas Joseph said that they had the US in mind for a very long time, but they were waiting for the right time to come.

The organisers had decided to go to US only when they were completely ready. Joseph said the appropriate time had come and they were absolutely ready to make the awards event happen. He assured that the 15th IIFA would be the largest event and it would be bigger and better.

The gala awards function will go on for four days. This year’s event will start with the introduction of IIFA Stomp, a free-to-all public party offering “a taste of India”. The public can enjoy an entertaining mixture of Indian music, handicrafts and food. This party will be held on Wednesday at the picturesque Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park which overlooks the Hillsborough river.

Following the free public party are the IIFA Rocks at Tampa Convention Centre on April 24 (entry through special invites), an exclusive night of fashion and music and IIFA Magic of the Movies and Technical Awards; and the main IIFA Awards night at Raymond James Stadium on April 26 (entry through tickets), to amuse the fans of Indian cinema from all over the world.

The main awards night, hosted by Farhan and Shahid, Saturday, will be staged at the spacious Raymond James Stadium. It will feature a host of performances from Bollywood celebrities like Deepika Padukone, Hrithik Roshan and many more.

This four-day festival has been promoted heavily across the country since the past few months to increase the much-needed motivation for the event that is being held in the US for the very first time, reports IANS.
