Mumbai, Apr 18 (): Main Tera Hero is making a wonderful business at the domestic box office. By crossing the 50 crore mark in the domestic market, the movie has become the fourth highest grossing film of 2014.
Film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, “#MainTeraHero crosses ₹ 50 cr nett mark. Wknd 2: 7.50 cr, Mon 2 cr, Tue 1.20 cr, Wed 1.05 cr. Grand total: ₹ 50.23 cr nett. India biz”.
Featuring actors Varun Dhawan, Ileana D’Cruz and Nargis Fakhri, Main Tera Hero is produced by Balaji Motion Pictures. The movie was promoted heavily across all quarters of the country. Its music became a blockbuster even prior to the film’s release.
Released on April 4, Main Tera Hero was produced under the budget of 21 crores. This Varun Dhawan starrer has earned double its cost already within two weeks of its release. In the overseas market, the movie has managed to rake in approximately 4 crores.
Main Tera Hero did a wonderful business in it’s first week, but in the second week, the movie was affected by the horror comedy film of Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan, “Bhoothnath Returns”. Anyhow, the film managed to reach 50 crore mark in India before finishing its second week.
The movie is based on triangular love story in which Seenu (Varun Dhawan) gets attracted to a girl Sunaina (Illeana D’Cruz) in his college and encourages her to fall in love with him. Once he was kidnapped, he finds another girl Ayesha (Nargis Fakhri) who is the daughter of Gangster. She is also attracted to the same guy. It is the time, when Seenu has to choose between the two gorgeous ladies.
