Chennai, Apr 11 (): After seeing many postponements, Superstar Rajinikanth’s magnum creation Tamil period-drama Kochadaiiyaan is all set to hit the silver screens worldwide on May 9. The news has been announced by Mediaone Global Entertainment, the co-producer of Kochadaiiyaan on a social networking site. It was tweeted, ”We are happy to share the official confirmation – #Kochadaiiyaan slated for release on May 9th. @sound_a_rajini.”
Rajinikanth’s manager said the release date of Kochadaiiyaan has been confirmed as May 9 and there will be no changes in the release date of the film. Hyped to be the first motion capture photo-realistic 3D animated film made in India, ‘Kochadaiiyaan’ is directed by Soundarya Rajinikanth Ashwin, younger daughter of superstar Rajinikanth. It has been made on a budget of Rs.125 crore. Rajini plays an eighth century Pandya king who is known for his legendary valour.
Kochadaiyaan stars stunning Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone along with Rajinikanth. Other star cast includes R.Sarathkumar, Aadhi, Shobana, Rukmini Vijayakumar, Jackie Shroff and Nassar. The film’s music has been scored by AR Rahman.
The special feature used in Kochadaiiyaan is the mastery of Photorealistic Performance Capture technology. The technology is used in an Indian film for the very first time. Earlier, this technology has been seen in Hollywood masterworks such as Avatar, Tin Tin and Beowulf.
A number of technical experts from China and South India have worked on this technology, with the best production facilities in London, for the overall completion of the project.
Prior to the release of the movie, the makers are on the promotional journey. Reports say, the leading lady of Kochadaiiyaan, Deepika Padukone is finding it tough to dedicate her time to promote the film. She is busy with the schedules of Farah Khan’s Happy New Year, the movie that has a complicated cast requiring the combined dates of about eight to nine actors.
A core member of the film’s team said with the unavailability of Deepika, Rajini sir might make an exemption and come forward to promote Kochadaiyaan at select events.
