WBTET 2014 postponed to March 29, 2014

Kolkata, Mar 4 (): West Bengal TET 2014 scheduled to be held on 9th March 2014 has been postponed to 29th March 2014, according to latest reports.

Giving various reasons for the postponement, West Bengal School Service Commission (WBSSC) has notified to conduct the West Bengal TET 2014  on 29th March 2014.

WBTET 2014 is held to recruit candidates seeking for the appointment of teachers to State-run and State-aided secondary schools.

Charging the scarcity of time for processing the application forms, WBSSC Chairman Mr.Subiresh Bhattacharya claimed that a number of applications for TET applied by candidates could not reach the destination before the stipulated time (February 11, 2014) and received maximum applications from the post office on 25th February 2014.

“As per notification, last date for submission of application was fixed on February 11, 2014. The Postal Department should have provided all the filled-in forms within the following two days but were received by us as late as 3 p.m. on February 25th”, said Subiresh Bhattacharya.

Putting the blame on the postal department for the postponement of the WBTET 2014, Bhattacharya said that the Commission was left with no other options and decided to postpone WBTET 2014 to 29th March 2014.

Above all, due to non-availability of exam centres after March 9th owing to Higher Secondary Examinations, WBTET 2014 could not be held before 29th March 2014, said the Commission.

A total of 5.3 lakh candidates who have applied for the WBTET 2014 are therefore notified that WBTET 2014 will be held on 29th March 2014.
