Satyamev Jayate 2 Episode 1 deals with sexual molestation and rape

Mumbai, Mar 4 (): The first episode of Aamir Khan’s second season of Satyamev Jayate show focussed on the harsh truths of sexual molestation and rape in India.

In the first episode telecast on March 2nd, Sunday, Aamir stressed on the increasing figure of rape cases, troubles of rape victims and pain they face in our nation to get justice. Many statistical figures about rape cases were revealed in the episode.

The episode had four parts which described about the part of police officials who turn a blind eye and decline to file FIR to the procedure the doctors have to follow while filing a rape case.

Aamir Khan illustrated many cases in which police simply denied to file rape cases; instead they have asked rape victims for negotiation or even have locked up rape victims with their family members in the police station.

The actor brought into light a case of an 11-year old girl who was burnt alive by the suspect after being raped twice. After the incident, the suspect has changed his base and has also asked for police protection. A guest, who attended the show, also emphasised that the troubles of the rape victim rise when they are differentiated on the basis of class.

Two main guests of the show were Sangeeta Rege of CEHAT and Dr Nikhil Datar, a gynaecologist. They highlighted the efforts done by them all over India to follow some specified rules in the rape incidents. They also have emphasised about the necessity of various medical kits for rape victims.

Before ending the show, Aamir Khan showed moving stories of two women who have not survived the frightening crime but are still struggling for justice. The two women were Urmila Singh Bharti from Madhya Pradesh and Suzette Jordan from Park Street, Kolkata. They are doing their best to give their criminals punishments behind bars.
