Karan Johar’s Shuddhi to hit screens on 25 December 2015, who will replace Hrithik?

Mumbai, Feb 20 (): Filmmaker Karan Johar’s delayed project Shuddhi will hit theatres next Christmas.

The 41-year-old director himself has posted on Twitter, “Shuddhi’ will release on Friday the 25th of December 2015. The lead cast will be announced shortly.”

Initially, Hrithik Roshan was signed to play the lead role and Kareena Kapoor to play his love interest. The movie got constantly delayed due to the health problems of actor Hrithik Roshan that eventually led the superstar to quit the movie. Meanwhile, Kareena also came out of the movie.

Now, the next question arises is who will replace Hrithik in Shuddhi? Media reports say Shah Rukh Khan might be roped in for the film as both SRK and KJo have delivered several hits and are very comfortable with each other. Moreover, Shahrukh has the charm and his typical lover-boy image will do justice to the script of Shuddhi, which is a love story set in the backdrop of reincarnation. Also, Shahrukh is on a high after delivering a blockbuster ‘Chennai Express’.

Some rumours also suggest that actress Deepika Padukone has been signed up for the movie. If it is Deepika to do Kareena’s role, her perfect pair would be Ranbir Kapoor. Both of them look great onscreen and have delivered ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’ recently that eventually turned out as a hit. May be Karan can repeat the magic of ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’ by pairing Ranbir and Deepika, which will surely set the cash box ringing.

Ranveer Singh has good looks, body and a playful nature that will make him the perfect fit for this love saga. If Deepika Padukone is finalised as the lead actress of the movie, the chemistry between Ranveer and Deepika will be excellent. Ranveer has already shown his acting prowess in movies like ‘Lootera’ and ‘Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela’. He too has a rising career graph.

One has to wait to see whom Karan will rope in as the lead actors for his dream project Shuddhi.
