New Delhi, Feb 8 (): Fiat Chrysler India unveiled three models at the Expo for the Indian market. Avventura, Abarth 500 and the refreshed Linea were introduced at the show.
Nagesh Basavanhalli, President and Managing Director of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (Indian operations), said, “The introduction of the new products in the Indian market is in line with our long strategy, which puts us in a strong position to penetrate into the Indian market.”
The all new Avventura is becoming a serious contender in the B+ segment car buyers in India. It was built on the Linea platform and positioned as a ‘contemporary urban car’.
Avventura will be available as both petrol and 1.3-litre multijet diesel variants. The car is powered by the same Fiat 1.3-litre Multijet engine which produces 90 BHP of power and 209 Nm of torque. The 1.4-litre FIRE petrol engine is capable of developing 89bhp of top power and 115Nm of top torque.
The car is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. The car is designed to park easy with small turning radius, high ground clearance with a ground clearance of more than 200mm. The car has roof-rails running along the sides. It sports an electronic traction control, anti-lock braking system with Brake Assist and others.
The new Abarth 500 gets sun roof, sports seats, and xenon HID headlamps and the other safety features include 7 airbags, Hydraulic Brake Assist, ABS with EBD and parking sensors and audio system. The Abarth 500 will come with 137bhp on tap, 1.4-litre turbo engine, which imparts peppiness in this little mean machine.
The refreshed Linea gets front bumper, new front grille and fog lamps. The car also features cruise control, reverse parking sensors and rain sensing wipers and a new audio system with USB, Aux-in and Bluetooth compatibility.
