Yevadu and 1 Nenokkadine opening weekend box office report

Hyderabad, Jan 16 (): Sankranthi releases Ram Charan Teja’s Yevadu and Mahesh Babu’s 1 Nenokkadine have obtained a good reception from the masses and is showing a lot of promise.

Both the films fall under the same genre, “Revenge Drama”. Yevadu that was released on January 12 seems to be more viewer friendly with the right mix of commercial elements, whereas 1 Nenokkadine that was released two days before Yevadu opened to mixed reviews and failed to register a bumper opening.

Mahesh Babu’s 1 Nenokkadine, the Sukumar-directed psychological action thriller has failed to crash the three-day business record of the actor’s last release Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu and Attarintiki Daredi.

1 Nenokkadine has earned Rs 8.40 crore share on the opening day; it has witnessed a significant drop in its collections since its second day at Andhra Pradesh box office. But, the movie has taken to a glorious start in America and has done fabulous collection at the USA Box Office in the first weekend, beating Yevadu, Dedh Ishqiya, Veeram and Jilla.

1 Nenokkadine has collected Rs 5.82 crores nett ($946,552) from 105 screens at the USA Box Office in the first weekend.

Film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, “Telugu film #1Nenokkadine has packed a solid punch in USA. You can call it one of the best openings ever by an Indian film”.

On the other hand, reports say Ram Charan Teja’s “Yevadu” has earned Rs 17.38 crore share in three days at the Andhra Pradesh box office. The movie opened to a fantastic start on the first day raking in Rs 8.65 crore. On the second day, the collection dropped to Rs 4 crore, but it again picked up on the third day (14 January). The Ram Charan starrer earned over Rs 4.5 crore on Tuesday, taking the three-day total to over Rs 17 crore. Despite having a delayed release, “Yevadu” has done well at the box office.

Reports by AndhraBoxOffice say the action-packed entertainer has performed better than Mahesh Babu’s “1 Nenokkadine”, which earned Rs 12.40 crore in its opening weekend.
