Chandigarh, Dec 24 (): Department of Food and Supplies and Consumer Affairs Punjab which conducted the written examination for Punjab Food Inspector (Group B) Examination on 15th December 2013 has declared the results on its official website at www.foodsuppb.nic.in

The Department of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Punjab was first established at Lahore in the year 1942 with an intention to take care of food scarcities during the Second World War. After the State trading in food grains was initiated in the year 1956, main office of the department was moved to Chandigarh.
The main purpose of the Department is to obtain wheat and rice for the Central Pool and over 50 to 60% of wheat and rice are contributed by the Government of Punjab. The Department which carries out the entire operation of procurement handles and controls the supply and distribution of food grains in the market.
Candidates who qualify the Punjab Food Inspector (Group B) exam will be invited for the final Screening Test of Inspectors (Group B).

Shortlisted candidates who appeared for Screening Test of Inspectors (Group B) held on 15th December 2013 are considered as eligible to appear for final test on 12th January 2014.
