Chennai, Dec 20 (): Three most-awaited movies are hitting the Chennai screens this Friday, on December 20.
Among them two are Tamil films and one Hindi film – Karthi’s Biriyani, Jiiva’s Endrendrum Punngai and Aamir Khan’s Dhoom3. They have all created a lot of expectations among the audience and are predicted to create a big clash at the TN box office.
Let us take a look at few details like cast, crew and screen count of the films.
Directed by Venkat Prabhu, Biriyani stars Karthi and Hansika Motwani in lead roles.
The film is a black comedy thriller and expected to emerge as a commercially hit film, as films such as “Soodhu Kavvum” and “Moodar Kootam”, which were of the same genre that have not only been critically acclaimed but also turned out as commercially successful movies.
Karthi plays the role of a playboy, while Premgi Amaren is his childhood friend in the film. Hansika plays a journalist and veteran actor Ramki plays a significant role. The story of Biriyani is about how Karthi’s life changes after eating a plate of “Biriyani.”
Music composer Yuvan Shankar Raja has composed the songs and the movie is his 100th album. Certified with “U/A” rating, the film releases in more than 1000 screens.
Directed by Ahmed of “Vaamanan” fame, “Endrendrum Punngai” is a romantic comedy film. The film has a huge star cast including Jiiva, Vinay, Santhanam, Trisha and Andrea.
The Jiiva starrer is certified “U/A” as the film has few adult comedy scenes. Produced by G.K.M. Tamil Kumaran and Dr. Ramadoss and Red Giants Udhayanidhi Stalin is distributing the film in a big way. Reports from the distributors say the film is releasing in around 260 screens in Tamil Nadu.
Aamir Khan’s “Dhoom 3″ is creating a lot of expectations in Tamil Nadu not only for the audiences but also for the traders as the “Dhoom” franchise is quite popular in the state and Aamir is playing the antagonist role in the third instalment.
Besides Aamir Khan, “Dhoom 3″ has Katrina Kaif, Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra in significant roles. The film is releasing in 850 screens in south India and particularly in Tamil Nadu, “Dhoom 3″ will be shown in around 150 screens. Advance booking for the film has already started and has been receiving fantastic response from fans.
