Hrithik Roshan announces separation from wife Sussanne

Mumbai, Dec 14 (): Sussanne and Hrithik Roshan have been living separately for over two months. Now a statement from the actor confirms that actor Hrithik Roshan and his wife Sussanne are ending their marriage.

The official statement from Hrithik Roshan read:

“Sussanne has decided to separate from me and end our 17-year relationship. This is a very trying time for the entire family and I request the media and the people to grant us our privacy at this time.

“I do not wish this news to disempower my fans and the people about the institution of marriage in any way. I am a firm believer in this institution and respect and honour it at the highest level…

“And once again I thank my fans for all the concern and prayers for my health, my treatment is going well and I should be able to resume my life in every way very soon.

Thank you”

This comes after four months of rumour about the split. The speculations began when the couple had not made any public appearance – like they used to for quite some time. Sussanne was also missing from all the public events related to Hrithik’s recent hit, Krrish:3.

In September, for Rakesh Roshan’s birthday party, Sussanne made a quite appearance. Apparently, she arrived late with her parents, Sanjay and Zarine Khan and brother Zayed. More recently, Sussanne confirmed Hrithik’s presence at the opening of her new store (on December 11) but of course that did not happen since he was in the US.

Industry sources say, the couple was going through a rough patch even before the release of ‘Krrish 3′. It looks Sussanne has already moved out of Roshans’ Juhu house and is living in Versova with her children. There are also reports that the couple have legally applied for separation.

Sussanne, daughter of actor and producer Sanjay Khan, married Hrithik Roshan in 2000. The couple has two children Hrehaan, 7 and Hridhaan, 5.

Hrithik Roshan has starred in blockbuster hits like Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai and Koi Mil Gaya, which was directed by his father, former actor Rakesh Roshan.
