Kochadaiiyaan audio launch not on Rajinikanth’s birthday

Chennai, Dec 11 (): The audio release of Rajinikanth’s magnum opus “Kochadaiiyaan” (aka “Kochadaiyaan”) was expected to happen on the actor’s 63rd birthday, December 12, but latest reports reveal the audio launch has been postponed.

The makers have pushed the audio launch date to January 2014. Entertainment industry tracker Sreedhar Pillai tweeted the music of “Kochadaiiyaan” will be released in the first week of January, whereas release date of the film has been pushed to April 2014.

Sreedhar tweeted, “#Kochadaiiyaan audio which was scheduled for Dec 12 on Superstar Rajinikanth’s b’day postponed 2 January first week. Release pushed 2 April”.

The music of the film has been composed by A.R. Rahman. Rajinikanth has also lent his voice for a song in the ‘Kochadaiiyaan’ soundtrack. The song titled “Engae Pogudho Vaanam” has been sung by legendary singer SP Balasubramaniyam.

Directed by Rajinikanth’s younger daughter Soundarya R Ashwin, Kochadaiiyaan stars Rajinikanth, Deepika Padukone, Shobana, Sarath Kumar, Nassar, Jackie Shroff and Aadhi amongst others. KS Ravikumar has written the script for Kochadaiiyaan, which was canned by Rajiv Menon and editing is handled by Anthony.

Kochadaiiyaan will be dubbed in Telugu and will be released simultaneously. The Telugu name of the film will be “Vikrama Simha”. Further, Kochadaiiyaan will also be dubbed in Malayalam and English.

‘Kochadaiiyaan’, the epic movie, narrates the story of an 8th century Pandiya King, Kochadaiyaan Ranadhiran. The movie marks the directorial debut of Soundarya R Ashwin.

‘Kochadaiiyaan’, produced by Eros International and Media One Global Entertainment, is made on a whopping budget of Rs 125 crore. The movie has been hyped to be made with India’s first motion capture technology (MOCAP) and the film is being made along the lines of Hollywood films like ‘Avatar, Polar Express’ and ‘Tin Tin’.

Rajinikanth’s come-back to the silver screen after a gap of three years has created a lot of interest among his fans and film fraternity.
