Chennai, Dec 10 (): Vijay-Mohanlal dance sequence in upcoming Pongal blockbuster Jilla was shot at Thirumoorthy dam in Coimbatore district.
Penned by Yugabharathi and to the stunning music of Imman,
‘Sivanum sakthiyum serndha massuda, Edhuthu ninnavan thoosuda’ sung by celebrated singers SP Balasubramaniam and Shankar Mahadevan, the dance sequence featuring Jilla lead Vijay and Mollywood Superstar Mohanlal was canned at Thirumoorthy dam.
This dance number is said to be the first song sequence in Jilla. To add to its value, elaborate woodwork worth crores of rupees including temple car, pillars, mandapams and temple were erected under the craftsmanship of hundreds of carpenters.
Hundreds of people from Coimbatore are visiting the sets to have a look at the detailed sets of Jilla.
Recent media reports say that Vijay and Moahnlal are competing against each other in this first song sequence of Jilla, in which over five thousand people are taking part.
Another highlight of the Jilla opening song is that many reputed instrumentalists belonging to Kerala and Tamil Nadu have been roped in to make the song more appealing to the masses.
Choreographed by Raju Sundaram, debutant director RT Nesan is confident that the fans of Vijay would dance to this song with all energy and to a good number of whistles!
Team Jilla is fast readying to release it for Pongal 2014 when it would clash with Ajith Kumar’s Veeram.
