Mumbai, Dec 4 (): Shahid Kapoor is hoping to wrap 2013 on a high and score a box-office hit with his upcoming movie R…Rajkumar. Directed by Prabhu Deva and written by Shiraz Ahmed, the movie is all set to release on December 6.
Shahid Kapoor is in the industry for a decade now and but somehow his fine talents have not been able to score high at the box office most of the times. Out of the 24 films (including this week’s R…Rajkumar) he has done in his last 10 years, only three of them rocked the box office. They were his debut film Ishq Vishk (2003), Vivah(2006) and Jab We Met (2007).
So, R…Rajkumar is very important for Shahid Kapoor. The producers Eros are very confident about the movie as the trailers and the songs of the movie received great response from the masses. The songs and promos have already given an indication that it is an out an out masala entertainer.
The most important thing is R…Rajkumar is directed by ‘Wanted’ director Prabhu Deva. Moreover, R…Rajkumar is Prabhu Deva’s first ‘original’ Bollywood movie.
Prabhu Dheva made his directorial debut in Bollywood with Salman Khan starrer ‘Wanted’, which was a huge hit. His next film ‘Rowdy Rathore’ was with Akshay Kumar and the film also did well at the box office. He then worked on ‘Ramaiya Vastaviya’ with newcomers Girish Taurani and Shruti Hassan.
Now, his upcoming film R…Rajkumar has Shahid Kapoor and Sonakshi Sinha in the lead roles while Sonu Sood plays the villain. The film is produced by Sunil Lulla and Viki Rajani.
Having given huge hits in Bollywood, the industry feels R…Rajkumar would also be another hit to Prabhu Deva. If all works well for Prabhu Deva, it would be a great advantage to Shahid Kapoor who is waiting for the last six years after Jab We Met (2007) and has seen ten flops in a row.
