Mumbai, Nov 28 (): Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh starrer Goliyon Ki Rasleela RamLeela has collected Rs 100 crore at the domestic box office, giving way for the film to enter the elite 100 crore club.
RamLeela becomes the seventh member to join the 100 crore club; the film has taken just 12 days to reach the coveted club. Now, having collected a fantastic box office income of 101 crores, it has equalled the collection of Salman Khan starrer Ready which also had taken the same number of days to enter the 100 crore club.
RamLeela has become the seventh film to earn 100 crore this year. The film joined the century club with other 2013-releases including “Race 2″, “Grand Masti”, “Bhaag Milkha Bhaag”, “Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani” (YJHD), “Chennai Express” and “Krrish 3″.
The film has entered the 100 crore club, as the director Sanjay Leela Bhansali has struck the correct string. Retelling of Shakespeare’s love story Romeo and Juliet was fascinating while Ranveer Singh and Deepika’s chemistry was also translated perfectly on-screen.
On the other hand, Deepika Padukone has shown that she is the queen of 100 crore club in Bollywood. RamLeela is her fourth film this year which has grossed Rs 100 crore. Race 2, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and Chennai Express are the other three films of Deepika Padukone that have entered 100 crore club.
In its first week, the film managed to collect 82 cr net, by doing consistent performance on all weekdays. The collections were very strong in Gujarat and Mumbai circuits. The love saga collected 14 cr nett in its second weekend and on 2nd Monday the collection dropped by 55%.
RamLeela is a big budget venture and 100 cr nett was a minimum requirement to close on break even. The film surely needs a minimum of 110 cr nett in order to have a chance of recovery.
