Kerala ministers’ sexual links with solar panel accused

Kochi,Nov 21 (): Solar panel scam now takes a murkier twist with an accused threatening to release videos of a co-accused woman partner having sexual links with a Union minister, a State Minister, ex-State Minister and MLA and an IPS officer.

This information was told to CM Oomen Chandy in a private conversation, claims the accused. Saritha S Nair, the prime accused in the solar panel scam case told the additional chief judicial magistrate (economic offenses) who informed the high court vigilance registrar. Saritha Nair had told him that she was raped.

Oommen Chandy on grounds of protecting his cabinet colleagues who had sexually abused Nair must resign, says the Opposition. Chandy did not reveal what co- accused Radhakrishnan now in jail had discussed with him in a closed door meeting in Kochi last year.

The sexual allegations in the solar scam had got credibility last week when Kochi ACM (economic offences) NV Raju told the high court registrar that Nair had stated she was sexually abused. The registrar (vigilance) had been probing the magistrate’s failure to record the statement of Saritha Nair, when she was produced before the court. The magistrate had heard Saritha Nair in camera for 20 minutes after she wanted to give a statement to the court. The magistrate said Nair had confirmed that she was raped.

Radhakrishnan last week told the magistrate court at Tirur that a union minister from Kerala, a state minister, a former state minister and a IPS officer in the rank of IG had sexually exploited Saritha Nair and also financially.

Radhakrishnan had said the chief minister had been informed about Nair’s links with the ministers.

Radhakrishnan’s advocate Jacob Mathew claimed his client had in his possession video clippings showing Nair’s sexual relation with the ministers and her diary, which has the details about her relations. The video clippings were recorded by Saritha Nair herself.

If needed, Radhakrishnan is willing to hand over the evidences to an investigating agency in the presence of media, said the lawyer. The solar panel scam has already put a personal staff and a gunman in CM’s office behind bars.

The CPM-led LDF has launched a mass agitation seeking CM’s resignation over the solar panel scam. Saritha Nair and her partner Radhakrishnan collected crores of money from investors for putting up solar panel which they claimed would get a subsidy from the government. To make it credible, they used a personal staff and gunman of CM to show their proximity.
