Chennai,Nov 10 (): Arrambam, Vishnuvardhan’s magnum opus, starring ‘Ultimate Star’ Ajith declared a blockbuster in terms of box office collections is reported to be remade in Hindi by Bollywood star Akshay Kumar. Akshay Kumar is currently working on the Hindi remake of Vijay’s Thuppaki, directed by AR Murugadoss. There is no official confirmation though.
Arrambam went on to occupy the top slot at the Chennai box-office according to trade analyst Sreedhar Pillai while the other Deepavali releases ‘All in All Azhagu Raja’ and ‘Pandiyanadu’ failed to make the cut.
Arrambam is said to be doing a decent business in overseas circuits too.

Sripriya directs 22 Malini Palayamkottai
Sripriya,the yesteryear actress of repute is directing a feature film titled,’22 Malini Palayamkottai’, a remake of the Malayalam hit ’22 Female Kottayam’ that focusses on the burning national issue of sexual assaults on women.
Sripriya said she was angered to witness such horrors unleashed on women and added that the film is her way of registering her anger. The film is being made in Tamil and Telugu.
Kollywood biggies like K Balachander, Kamal Hassan, Suriya and Radhika were present in the audio release event that happened recently for Sripriya’s directorial.
At the event, watching the trailer and songs, ace director Balachander is said to have complimented Sripriya for her taking up a daring subject for her film and has even praised the movie as ‘Mini Vishwaroopam’.
