UGC NET Dec 2013 pattern, scheme

New Delhi, Oct 25 (): The University Grants Commission (UGC) which conducts National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) to determine the eligibility for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and eligibility for Assistant Professor is now getting ready to conduct the UGC NET on 29th Dec 2013 for which candidates have been issued a notification to apply on or before 30th October 2013.

The University Grants Commission issued a notification for UGC NET Dec 2013 in the official website recently. The UGC NET is conducted twice a year.

Timing and Pattern for UGC NET Dec 2013

Paper I -will be held in the first Session from 9.30 A.M. to 10.45 A.M where out of 60 questions, candidates will have to attempt 50 which will carry 100 marks.

Paper II- will be held in the next Session from 10.45 A.M. to 12.00 Noon in which 50 questions will be asked and candidates will have to answer all the 50 compulsorily which will also carry 100 marks.

Paper III- will be held in the afternoon session from 1.30 P.M. to 4.00 P.M in which 75 questions will be asked and all the 75 questions have to be attempted compulsorily by the candidates which will carry 150 marks.

Scheme and Method

Paper-I will be of general nature which will be conducted to assess the teaching/research aptitude of the applicant.

Paper-II & Paper-III will be based on the subject selected by the candidate and will carry 2 marks each. All the questions in Paper-II & Paper-III should be attempted compulsorily which will cover the entire syllabus.

Minimum marks (%) category wise for candidates to obtain in NET Dec 2013

For General category- Paper I-40 (40%), Paper II – 40 (40%), Paper III -75 (50 %)

For OBC (Non-creamy layer) – Paper I-35 (35%), Paper II – 35 (35%), Paper III -67.5 (45 %) rounded off to 68

For PWD/SC/ST – Paper I-35 (35%), Paper II – 35 (35%), Paper III -60 (40 %)
