Chennai,Oct 18 () : Narendra Modi, the Gujarat Chief Minister and BJP’s prime ministerial candidate told an audience here that the mood of the party workers was to bring in Congress-free nation. Narendra Modi who is in the city said that India is witnessing a cyclone of change.
Narendra Modi said that in Northern India no one believes that even there is a wave of change in Tamil Nadu and conveyed his feelings and thanks to everyone in the state about the Trichy rally. The rally was a great success and the credit goes to the masses of Tamil Nadu and BJP workers of the State, he said.
The mood seen today shows that the workers are waiting to fulfil the dream of Congress-free India, added Narendra Modi . He said that last week, a big cyclone hit eastern India. It looked like it would ravage the eastern states. But such a disaster was not caused. The cyclone could not destroy anything because there in India there is a cyclone of change going on.
Narendra Modi added that if India brings back the black money kept in Swiss banks, then one won’t go looking around for gold.
The speech was delivered at the Madras University Centenary Hall where a book written by Arun Shourie was released. The function was organized by Phalkiwala Foundation. The city saw heavy security measures following the recent arrest of ultras who had planned to kill BJP leaders in Tamil Nadu.
Earlier in the day, the Madras HC dismissed a PIL seeking to not allow Narendra Modi a Hindu fundamentalist from speaking at the University Hall and pointed out that an American scholar known for Islamic fundamentalism was denied permission.
BJP’s PM candidate’s next public outing is at Kanpur, which is important as UP accounts for 80 seats in LS. This Kanpur rally is said to show BJP’s strength in the State which has sent only 10 MPs of BJP to LS.
