New Delhi, Oct 11 (): HTC launched a new phone in its Desire series – the HTC Desire 500 for Rs 24,290 on Wednesday, October 9. The company has said that the device will be available in the retail stores from Wednesday.
The mid-range handset features a 1.2GHz quad-core processor , 4.3-inch display, 8MP primary camera and 1.6 MP front-facing camera, 4GB on-board memory and (expandable up to 64GB). It runs on Android 4 JellyBean operating system.
HTC country head Faisal Siddiqui said, “The Desire range has become renowned for bringing a premium mobile experience to the mass market… the Desire 500 is no different. It is perfect for people who are always on the go”.
The company says Desire 500 is perfect for people who are always-on-the-go; the handset enables powerful multitasking and live-streaming of important and interesting information, and it claims an excellent camera that brings your important moments to life.

The 8 MP rear camera has auto focus, LED flash, BSI sensor, F2.0 aperture and 28 mm lens with dedicated HTC ImageChip. Moreover, five levels of flash are automatically set by distance to subject.
Whereas, the front camera has 1.6 MP with BSI sensor. The device has 720p video recording facility and gallery with video highlights and HTC Share. The other special features in the video recording are continuous shooting and VideoPic and slow motion video recording with variable speed playback.
