Nissan Terrano to launch in India on October 9

Chennai, Oct 9 (): Nissan is set to launch Terrano for the Indian market at a function in Chennai on October 9. Though the price of the car is not revealed, the vehicle is expected to be launched at a starting price of Rs 8.50 lakh.

The company had already unveiled the vehicle on August 20, while the official bookings were opened on 1st September. Except the price of the car, almost all the information of the car were revealed earlier. It is expected the car would be delivered within a few days after the launch.

The Japanese automaker, Nissan is offering the Terrano in six variants (one petrol and five diesel) and with three engine options as well as two gearboxes. Terrano comes with 5-and 6-speed manual gearbox.

Terrano comes in six shades; pearl white, blade silver, sapphire black, sterling grey, bronze grey and fire red.

The festive season has started and already a number of vehicles have been launched, such as Skoda Octavia, Bentley Flying Spur and Ashok Leyland Stile. In 2013, Nissan has been one of the busiest companies in the market and has already launched the new version of Micra.

Now, the Japanese auto maker has planned to launch a number of vehicles in the Indian car market in coming years. Terrano is also one among its great models and the SUV is likely to make a great impact. Nissan Terrano will compete with the Ford EcoSport and obviously the Renault Duster.

Industry experts say there is a lot of scope for the Nissan Terrano to do well in India as the segment is still on a rise. Considering the potential of the segment, Terrano could do really well in India. However, reports say it is going to be priced higher than the Duster, something which might prove to be a warning.
