Chennai, Sep 29 (): Tamil romantic comedy movie Raja Rani starring Arya and Nayantara was released in India and across the world on Friday, Sept 27, 2013. The movie is expected to do well at the box-office as the movie has collected 4.5 crore on its opening day.
Trade analyst and film critic Taran Adarsh tweeted the figures. “#RajaRani [Tamil] Friday collections: Tamil Nadu – Rs 3.20 cr, Kerala – Rs 25 lacs, Karnataka – Rs 25 lacs. Total: Rs 3.70 cr. Excellent!”
Taran also tweeted about the overseas collection of Raja Rani. He tweeted, “#RajaRani [Tamil] UK fri £ 16,314 on 12 screens. Some screens yet to report. Good”.
The movie is the debutant project for director Atlee Kumar, who has worked as an assistant director under director Shankar for Rajinikanth’s “Enthiran” co-starring Aishwarya Rai.
Raja Rani is produced by A.R Murugadoss along with Fox Star Studios.
Besides Arya and Nayantara, the movie also features Jai, Sathyaraj, Santhanam and Nazriya Nazim in the lead roles. This film talks about the petty problems and ego clashes between the lead couple. It is a beautiful romcom with a lot of emotions portrayed.
The music for the movie is scored by GV Prakash and there are 7 melodious songs in the movie. The songs of the movie are already a hit.
Before the release of the movie, much hype was created for it from the first posters and first trailers of the movie. The posters and trailer became viral as soon as they hit the net.
The soundtrack for the film along with its official trailer was released on YouTube as well as in 12 major South Indian TV channels on August 23, 2013. A teaser for the film was also released by Fox Star Studios on May 11, which went viral within a few days.
