New Delhi, Sep 28 (): The new Skoda Octavia sedan will be launched in India on 3rd October 2013. The company will launch the new Octavia in three trim levels- Active(base), Ambition (mid) and Elegance (top).
Octavia sedan was unveiled officially in August, 2013 and is now slated to be introduced in the country with three engine variants (two petrol and one diesel) while the expected price is in the range of INR 14.5 to 19 lakhs.
The three engine options on offer would consist of two petrol motors and one oil burner. Following are the three engines that will be offered with the India spec Octavia:
• 1.4 litre TSI Turbo Petrol engine that also powers the cousin Jetta
• The 1.8 TSi Turbo Petrol engine from the Laura
• The 2.0 TDi Turbo Diesel engine, again from the Laura
The first variant of 2013 Skoda Octavia is 1.4 litre TSi engine that offers peak power of 140 PS and 250 Nm peak torque which will be mated to a 6 speed manual gearbox.
The second variant of 2013 Skoda Octavia is 1.8 litre TSi engine that offers 177 bhp peak power and 250 Nm torque which will be mated to a 7 speed auto DSG gearbox.
The third variant of 2013 Skoda Octavia is a 2.0 litre TDi engine capable of 150 bhp peak power and 320 Nm peak torque. This will be offered in two options, one mated to a 6 speed manual gearbox and the other mated to a 6 speed auto DSG transmission.
The new Octavia has a new Skoda logo that will be seen on all upcoming models while it will be the first Skoda to sport daytime running LED lights.
For safety features, the new Octavia will get ABS, Lane Assistance, Fatigue detection System, Adaptive Cruise Control, 9 Airbags, Intelligent Light Assistant and Traffic Signal Recognition.
Bookings for the new Octavia have already commenced.
