Will Rajinikanth join BJP rally in Trichy?

Chennai,Sep 19 (): Media is abuzz with reports about Rajinikanth joining BJP’s youth  rally scheduled in Trichy, where Gujarat Chief Minister and BJP’s Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi is set to address the rally on September 26.

This happens to be Modi’s first rally in south India after being elected as the party’s Prime Ministerial candidate for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in 2014.

BJP state president Pon Radhakrishnan  while speaking to media persons earlier had said that Rajinikanth is the most responsible and respected person in the state and he has concerns for the nation in general and the state in particular.

The state president said he had issued an open appeal to the actor to take a good decision and voice in favour of the party, when asked whether the party would approach  popular personalities to support BJP during electoral campaign. Radhakarishnan also said that it was the most fitting time for Rajinikanth to lend a helping hand to BJP.

BJP feels that Rajinikanth does not belong to any political party and is an out and out a nationalist to the core. When the whole nation is suffering, they wished that Rajinikanth would heed to the call of the people of the nation and support BJP and Modi in particular.

Sources say Rajinikanth is close to Modi and it may be recalled that Modi visited Rajinikanth in hospital in 2011. Modi was in Chennai to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Jayalaithaa-led AIADMK government, when Superstar was hospitalized for respiratory infection.

Meantime, according to TOI reports, Superstar Rajinikanth has been purportedly  roped in  as a brand ambassador for the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) to create awareness among citizens of Bangalore  on the importance of waste segregation at source.

Rajinikanth who was a  senior to BS Satyanarayana at APS High School, Bangalore is the newly elected Mayor of the BBMP. The Mayor has said that he would personally meet Rajinikanth in Chennai and invite him to be a part of the awareness drive.

The Mayor felt that because of the massive fan-following that the Superstar enjoys in the State, people in the city would follow his advice.

Gunasekhar, president  of the Bangalore Rajinikanth Fans’ Association, said the presence of the Superstar would make a positive impact on traders at the KR market.

The big question now is – will the Superstar make it to BJP rally? We have to just wait and watch!
