New Delhi, Sep 11 (): Apple officially unveiled the long-rumoured iPhone 5C and the high-end model iPhone 5S at its Silicon Valley headquarters to boost its sales all over the world.
The company introduced a new top-end iPhone 5S with a speedier chip which brings up the computing power from 32 to 64 bits. It also comes with better camera than current models along with a fingerprint-scanner that can unlock the phone with just a touch. It boasts of an 8-megapixel rear camera. It has a new HD Face Time feature on the front.
Phil Schiller, senior vice president of worldwide marketing at Apple said about the iPhone 5S, that it is the most forward-looking phone they have ever created.
The iPhone 5S is priced at $199 for a 16GB model and up to $399 for the 64GB model. The iPhone 5S will be available in silver, gold, and space gray. It also has a 4-inch Retina display. The CPU is 40 times faster than the original iPhone. It has a better camera with dual-LED flash. The new mode in the camera, SloMo mode captures HD video at 720p at 120FPS. The battery life of 3G talk time is 10 hours and up to 250 hours of standby.
The other model iPhone 5c has a 4-inch Retina display and is powered by Apple’s A6 chip. It will be available in green, white, blue, red and yellow colours. It runs on Apple’s latest mobile operating system iOS 7. It is is made of steel-reinforced plastic, rather than solid aluminium.
Jony Ive, Apple’s Senior Vice President of Design said, “Beautifully, unapologetically plastic. Multiple parts have been reduced to a single polycarbonate component whose service is continuous and seamless.”
Phil Schiller said, “The phone runs on a A6 processor, the same as iPhone 5. The phone has a slightly larger battery than iPhone 5.” The phone will cost $99 for the 16GB version and $199 for the 32 GB one.
The iPhone 5S will be available on September 20 in US, UK, China, Canada, Australia, France, Germany, Japan, and Singapore.
