Movies for Ganesh Chaturthi festival – Riddick, Zanjeer, Shuddh Desi Romance

Mumbai, Sep 5 (): Riddick, Zanjeer, Shuddh Desi Romance are the much talked about movies and are releasing tomorrow, September 6. These movie are likely to use the Ganesh Chaturthi festival to take over box office.


Riddick, 2013 American science fiction action film, is the third instalment in the The Chronicles of Riddick film series. Vin Diesel features in the title character and has produced the movie. David Twohy, who previously wrote and directed the first two instalments, Pitch Black (2000) and The Chronicles of Riddick (2004), has written and directed the movie.

Cast – Vin Diesel, Karl Urban, Katee Sackhoff, Jordi Molla, Nolan Gerard Funk, Keri Hilson, Dave Batista.

Zanjeer, action film directed by Apoorva Lakhia, is a remake of the 1973 film of the same name. The film features Tollywood actor Ram Charan Teja and Priyanka Chopra in lead roles. It marks the Bollywood debut of Ram Charan. Prakash Raj has done the villain role after tasting success in Hindi films like Wanted, Singham and Dabangg 2.

The original version was Amitabh Bachchan’s first solo commercial success film. Ram Charan Teja plays the role Amitabh Bachchan played in the original. While Priyanka Chopra and Sanjay Dutt reprise the roles played by Jaya Bachchan and Pran in the original, Prakash Raj plays the villain, made famous by Ajit.

Shuddh Desi Romance

Yash Raj Films’ (YRF) Shuddh Desi Romance is a love story starring Sushant Singh Rajput, Parineeti Chopra and newcomer Vaani Kapoor. The story of Shuddh Desi Romance revolves around three characters based in Jaipur and talks about conflicts between love and commitment.

Directed by Maneesh Sharma and produced by Aditya Chopra, the romantic comedy film releases on September 6, 2013.
