Kharagpur, Aug 27 (): In a statement, senior officials of IIT Joint Admission Board (JAB) have notified saying that chances of any changes in the pattern and format of the exam for the IIT-JEE is likely to remain the same and will not change for one more year.
A new system when introduced has to be given a chance for two-three years to sustain, said the officials. However, not many changes are likely to occur this year, added the officials.
Making a comprehensive assessment of the new pattern, the Board executed the two-tier Joint Entrance Examination in the present year. The IIT JJB declared not to have any changes in JEE exam pattern next year. Therefore, under the new format for admissions, IIT candidates from Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala and those belonging to national boards like CBSE will have to compete with high cut-offs this year.
The JAB has decided to arrange a meeting on September 15 at IIT Kharagpur where further discussions on the matter will take place, said the officials adding that the meeting which was already held also had a brief discussion on next year’s examinations.
