New Delhi, Aug 24 (): German car maker Volkswagen launched Volkswagen Cross Polo, a new entry to the polo hatchback market in India. The car is priced at Rs. 7.75 lakh for the base variant.
The new Cross Polo is powered with a 1.2-litre TDI engine and a five-speed manual gearbox. The 1.2-litre TDI engine delivers a maximum power output of 75 [email protected] 4200rpm and a maximum torque of 180 Nm @ 2000 rpm. Volkswagen India as of now has no plans of launching a petrol version of the Cross Polo.
Arvind Saxena, Managing Director of Volkswagen Passenger Cars said “The Polo is an important car line in the Indian portfolio and with ongoing updates we keep it relevant and exciting for our customers.”
The model shares the same Polo-based platform and has a slightly different body line as compared to standard Polo. The new version has new bumpers, silver painted mirrors, body cladding, silver roof rails and 15-inch alloy wheels. Other features are heat insulating glass for windscreen, side and rear windows.
It has a tilt and telescopic adjustable steering wheel. It has a leather wrapped steering wheel, ‘Livon’ Titanium black upholstery, handbrake lever handle and gear shift knob.
Cross Polo is fitted with ‘Climatronic’ automatic air conditioning with dust and pollen filter. The music system is now compatible with Aux-in, USB, SD card and Bluetooth compatibility. It is equipped with security features like rear parking sensors, lane change indicator, dual front air bags, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) and engine immobilizer.
Cross Polo is available in three different colours, namely Flashy Red, Reflex Silver and Deep Black Pearl. The dimensions of the car are : length – 3987 mm, width – 1698 mm and height -1474 mm. The company claims a mileage of 22.07 kmpl.
The vehicle is available for sales from August 23.
