Mumbai, Aug 23 (): As Chennai Express has crossed the Rs 200 crore mark, co-producer-actor Shahrukh Khan and director Rohit Shetty rounded up the film’s cast and crew for a success party on Thursday, August 22 at JW Marriott, Mumbai.
Ahead of the success bash, excited SRK tweeted, “Yay party tonite with all the people who actually made the film possible. Team #ChennaiExpress all 300 of them. Red & Black & Hair Down!!”
The film which has grossed Rs 200 crore at the Box Office has been jointly produced by Gauri Khan and UTV.
The party was filled with the team of UTV head honcho Siddharth Roy Kapur, along with SRK’s Red Chillies team. Veteran actress Kamini Kaushal, who played SRK’s grandmother in the film attended the party. Actor Nikitin Dheer, who played the antagonist was also present at the bash.
Chennai Express team made a dramatic entry into the event stage in a jeep that was used in the film. Shahrukh looked dapper in a black suit at the success bash of ‘Chennai Express’. Much to the delight of all gathered in the grand success bash, the actor shook legs on stage.
SRK said with all the hard work done, the film has given immense success and as the actor bowed down there was a huge blast at the party. The dance and dhamaka added more fun to all at the bash.
Director of Chennai Express Rohit Shetty and lead actor Shahrukh Khan were honoured with silk shawls for bringing out this family entertainer.
Moreover, the Chennai Express success party did not miss out the famous ‘lungi dance’. A number of men sporting the south Indian lungis danced on stage for the ‘lungi dance’ song.
Most of the cast and crew were present at the success bash. But, Deepika Padukone, who is holidaying in Europe with her family, could not attend the bash.
