BJP:Border Security more important than Food bill

No sooner than the bill on Food Security Ordinance was produced in the Parliament, MPs belonging to BJP stood up claiming that debate over border security is more important than Food Bill, and demanded Defence Minister AK Antony to clarify his statement for making contradictory speech over the LoC killings.

While addressing the Lok Sabha, BJP senior leader Sushma Swaraj reacted to Antony’s explanation in Rajya Sabha and queried why should they be satisfied with his statement in Rajya Sabha? Let the Defence Minister be called to Lok Sabha and apologize for his statement. She claimed that discussion over border security is more significant than food security. With the opposition inevitable with its action, the Speaker at last had to adjourn the house for the day.

Both the Houses yesterday witnessed hysterical scenes when they assembled for the day on Wednesday morning. The opposition attacked the ruling government for its failure to control the repeated killings of Indian soldiers by the Pakistani troops. The leaders belonging to the opposition asked Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to clarify as Defence Minister A K Antony was absent to give his clarification on the issue.

Swaraj also questioned the UPA government over the two differences in the statements made by the Defence Minister. Following Sushma Swaraj , another BJP leader M Venkaiah Naidu asked  whether  Antony’s statement was associated to a possible meeting between Manmohan Singh and his newly-elected Pakistani counterpart Nawaz Sharif on the sidelines of UN General Assembly in September.

Describing Antony’s statement as ridiculous, BJP’s Yashwant Sinha said he had sent a dispensation proposal on the issue to Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar.
