New Delhi, Aug 6 (): With an intention to reach every corner of the globe, NIOS, the National Institute of Open Schooling – the largest Open Schooling System in the world and an Examination Board of Government of India at par with CBSE/CISCE is set to follow the principle of giving self-determination and liberty to the students “what to learn, when to learn, how to learn.”
NIOS is the one which provides flexibility to the students to choose the subjects according to their choice keeping in view the passing criteria.
Choice of Subjects
Students can choose subjects according to their preference from the given list
Students can apply online or through study centres under various streams at Secondary and Senior Secondary levels.
Public Examinations are conducted twice a year.
In five years, nine examination chances are offered.
On Demand Examination
Students can also appear in the On- Demand Examination (ODES) of NIOS at Secondary and Senior Secondary Levels at the Headquarters at Noida and all Regional Centres as and when the student prepares himself/herself for the examination after the Public examination.
Secondary Class 10 : Students must be 14 years old as on 31st January, 2013
Class VIII passed or self certificate as referred in the admission form
Senior Secondary (Class XII) : Students must be 15 years old as on 31st January, 2013
Students must be Secondary (Class X) passed from any recognized Board
English, Hindi and Urdu
At Secondary course, besides these mediums, the course will be offered in regional language also.
Students are allowed to take examination in off-line mode through the nearby NIOS recognized institution (AIs)/Regional centre/ sub-centre.
