Box office prediction : Chennai Express looks to sail smooth into 100 cr club

Mumbai, Aug 5 (): This year Eid holiday has Shahrukh Khan’s Chennai Express releasing as an excellent mass entertainer. The film directed by master of masses, Rohit Shetty, is predicted to offer big box office bonus.

For the last few years, Eid was celebrated in Salman Khan’s Style with “Ek Tha Tiger”, “Bodyguard” and “Dabangg”. All the three films turned to be mega hits. Experts say this year, it will be a great offer by Shahrukh Khan by his mass entertainer Chennai Express.

The film releases on August 9 in India, the U.K., U.S., Australia and the Middle East, all big markets for Hindi films, as well as Peru, Morocco, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, France and Israel.

Chennai Express is expected to attract huge holiday audiences in India and the Middle East, where the Muslim holiday of Eid al Fitr marks the end of Ramadan.

Koimoi.com says there is a high chance the film will venture above the 200 crore mark. So, the film is estimated to have a smooth sail into the 100 crore club and assume that it will be the first film on our 100 crore club list with the least number of days taken to reach the desired mark.

The last three of films of SRK has smoothly entered the 100 crore club. RaOne, Jab Tak Hai Jaan and Don 2 easily managed the entry. SRK’s speediest entry into the club has been with RaOne that made the entry in 10 days.

Now, Chennai Express has an extensive Thursday preview shows and reports say the film has sold off more than 45% of it seats already. Early estimates say, on its preview day, Chennai Express will easily make over 5 crores.

This year, several films that were expected to become hits failed to spark at the box office, including “D-Day,” “Ramaiya Vastavaiya” and “Raanjhanaa.” There have also been hits such as “Bhaag Milkha Bhaag” and “Yeh Jawaani Hai deewani.” Bollywood exhibitors are hoping that “Chennai Express,” co-starring Deepika Padukone with King Khan will be doing an extraordinary collection.
