New Delhi, Aug 5 (): Chennai Express lead actors Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone walked the ramp at the PCJ Delhi Couture.
Deepika Padukone has been joining Shahrukh Khan for the film’s promotions for the past few weeks. After promoting Chennai Express in London, Dubai and showing some bhangra moves in Punjab, the duo headed straight to the capital for the catwalk.
The actors looked stunning on the final day of the Delhi Courture Week in the old world setting and 1930′s inspired wedding collection. They walked for the Bollywood’s favourite designer Manish Malhotra.
The model-turned-actress walked in a navy blue velvet zardozi lehenga teamed up with full puffed sleeved choli. Her navy blue lehenga looked much like her Ram Leela outfit, which she showcased on the poster. Every inch Deepika looked like a diva in the full-sleeved simple blouse adorned with a huge kundan necklace while her Chennai Express co-star SRK came in a three-layered tuxedo black suit.
For the first time in any fashion show in India, people were seated on the ramp. Tables, chairs and ornate couches were placed on the runway where VIP guests sat and enjoyed the show.
Table tops were sprinkled with jasmine flowers and Rajinigandha flowers adorned large vases adding to the old world feel. Manish was in for all praise for his novel idea.
After the show, Manish told reporters that his idea was to make the stage resemble a very old world town hall of 1930s. He said this was how a couture show in the 1930’s would have happened and that was the way he had wanted it to be.
Deepika said Manish’s show was of international standards and she felt like the atmosphere was so electrifying. She said that she had never seen such a classy setting ever in the Indian fashion scenario till date and she loved the mood that the designer created on the last day of the couture week.
