Mumbai, July 31 (): Bollywood superstar Salman Khan is said to be pocketing 5 crore per episode and 130 crore for the whole show for hosting the upcoming seventh season of the telly reality show Bigg Boss.
For Bigg Boss 6, Salman Khan was paid Rs 2.5 crore per episode, now for Bigg Boss 7, he will be paid Rs 5 crore per episode. The actor will appear for a total of 26 episodes and his total income for the show would be Rs 130 crore. This makes him the highest paid actor on television.
While the charge per episode is doubled, the entertainment value in the show is also expected to double as the promotional campaign shows Sallu in dual role of an angel and a devil. The concept of featuring Salman in a double role will be to depict both heaven and hell. The message will be simple – pleasure of heaven and pain of hell.
This seventh season of Bigg Boss show is again produced by Colors channel and has been developed by Endemol. The official spokesperson of Colors refused to comment on the whopping remuneration of Salman.
Sources said that the shooting for the show takes more time, as the concept is totally different. He would be shooting two episodes in a day per week.
On the other hand, as the legal proceedings of 2002 hit-and-run trial looming over Salman’s head, in which he faces charges of culpable homicide, he is very keen to wrap up the shoot as soon as possible. The trial for his case will begin in August and the actor is prepared to finish the shooting in three months.
To make the show comfortable for the actor, the channel has brought forward the airing of the Bigg Boss 7 to September from the usual month of October. Salman too has insisted on finishing shooting for the show before the decision comes on his legal cases.
