Mumbai, July 30 (): Bhaag Milkha Bhaag has crossed 100 cr nett plus worldwide in 17 days and by the end of 4th week. The collection is expected to touch 100 cr nett at domestic box office too.
Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, released on 12 July, has raked in more than 90 crore in just 17 days of its release in the domestic market. As of now, the film has become the third highest grossing Hindi film of 2013. Ranbir Kapoor’s “Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani” tops the list, while “Race 2″ takes the second place.
Trade analyst and film critic Taran Adarsh tweeted, “BO Report Card: #BhaagMilkhaBhaag is third highest grosser of 2013 [still counting]!” The movie has been lauded by critics and audiences and is running successfully at the box office.
Many movies had hit the screens on July 26, last Friday. The films include ‘Nasha’, ‘Issaq’, ‘Bajatey Raho’, ‘Love U Soniyo’ and Hollywood film ‘The Wolverine’. Yet, viewers are still buying tickets to watch the life story and journey of famous athlete Olympian Milkha Singh in ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’.
In spite of all the new releases, the Farhan starrer seems to be the top choice of the public. The biopic has collected around 9 -9.50 crore during the third weekend.
Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’ has been made tax-free in Maharashtra, Delhi, Goa and Madhya Pradesh; now Haryana has also given the tax-free status to the film. This film is a family watch and is made to inspire the youth. The filmmaker wants the biopic to reach every nook and corner of the country.
Actor Farhan Akhtar plays the lead role, with actors like Sonam Kapoor and Divya Dutta delivering powerful performances.
Bhaag Milkha Bhaag is expected to fare well and even join the 100 crore club at the domestic market if the income remains stable through all days of its 3rd week.
