IBPS relaxes eligibility criteria for CWE/PO/MT-III

July 26 (): IBPS has relaxed the eligibility criteria for candidates  looking to appear for the CWE/PO/MT-III 2013.

The Institute of  Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS), a unit of National Institute of Bank Management (NIBM) is an autonomous body that aims to develop and promote an efficient system for recruitment, promotion and placement of  professionals in banking industry. Its services are now extended to cover non-banking sectors as well.

IBPS introduced Common Written Exam (CWE) for Officer and Clerical cadres for public sector banks. Banks will have to recruit almost 7.5 lakh personnel in the next 5 years, IBPS Director Mr M Balachandran had said in May this year.

With such a huge requirement in the anvil, relaxation of eligibility criteria for banking aspirants by IBPS has been lauded by the All India Students Association (AISA) and All India Students Federation (AISF) in Patna recently.

IBPS announced for recruitment of qualified candidates for the post of Probationary Officers (PO) and Management Trainee (MT) in Public Sector banks. IBPS CWE PO/MT-III registration has already commenced from 22nd July, 2013. Those interested and who satisfy all the eligibility criteria can register themselves by following the instructions given on the official website.

The CWE/PO/MT-III exam 2013 is tentatively scheduled in October this year.

Educational Qualification

A degree in any discipline from a recognized University or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government. Minimum of 60% of marks set down earlier to appear for the test for recruitment of probationary officers in nationalized banks has been done away with.


Minimum  age  is 20 years and

Maximum age is 30 years (i.e. The candidate must have been born not earlier than 2nd July, 1983 and not later than 1st July, 1993).

A relaxation in upper age limit will be given to reserved category candidates according to norms set down by the government.
