Mumbai, July 21 (): Model-turned actress Poonam Pandey’s sexy posters from her debut Bollywood movie Nasha has angered the residents of Mumbai and Delhi.
In Mahim area in Mumbai, a group of protesters tore the posters of Nasha and set them on fire on July 20. The previous day, around 30 residents of Seemapuri in north-west Delhi tore up the nude posters of the bold film and burnt them. Further, they went to the local police station to complain about these posters.
Samir Khan, a protester, said that such a nudity is unacceptable, particularly during the holy month of Ramadan. The first sight devotees see after finishing their prayers at the mosque is this unholy sight. He added that they would file a writ petition soon.
Political party, Shiv Sena too has objected to the skin show of Poonam Pandey in her upcoming film, Nasha. The party has forced the publicity posters of the film to be removed from Lower Parel and Borivali areas in Mumbai.
In response, Poonam Pandey said that besides some intimate scenes, the film has a lot to offer which would be liked by the audience. According to her, she had chosen this film as it had given her an opportunity to exhibit her acting talent.
Poonam said that people are already aware of her bold personality and are expecting a bold story to be narrated in her debut film. She denied reports that she had leaked a hot MMS of the film before its release as a publicity stunt.
Pandey also expressed her shock over the incident. She said that she was just entertaining her fans and could even apologise and calm down the situation, if needed.
The former Kingfisher calendar girl said she has high hopes from Nasha. The film marks the Bollywood debut of Poonam Pandey and it is scheduled to hit screens on July 26.
