Chennai, July 17 (): Veteran lyricist Vaali has been put on ventilator support at a Chennai hospital on Wednesday. The 81-year-old poet-lyricist has been suffering from respiratory problems for a long time now and admitted to hospital.
The famous lyricist has been undergoing specialist treatment for his health issues for more than forty days at the Apollo Hospital, Chennai. Following further deterioration in his health, the veteran was admitted in the intensive care section and now is presently put on ventilator. Immediately on hearing the news, Kamal Haasan and AR Rahman rushed to the hospital, say sources.
Kavingar Vaali is one of the most respected and revered lyricists in the industry. His contribution towards Tamil cinema spans five decades and he has penned lyrics for some of the most famous music directors in the industry.
Vaali last took part in the release function of his book Azhagia Singar in the first week of June. A day after that, he composed a song for Vasanthabalan’s upcoming film Kaavia Thalaivan. On hearing the news of his illness, the whole film industry is stunned.
Even at the age of 81, Vaali is admired for his flexibility to the new trend. His recent works include the Ethir Neechal title track, Netru Aval Irundhal and Sonapareeya from Maryan.
