Patna, July 6 (): Modi on his first venture into Bihar politics is expected to offer election tips to party workers in Bihar through video conferencing today.
Modi might take the opportunity to settle the previous score with rival Nitish Kumar who unanimously cut off ties with the BJP after his elevation as campaign committee chief on June 16.
Modi is set to address 1,500 BJP workers ranging from state level to the panchayat level and will discuss about the election plan in Bihar after the JD (U) snapped ties with it leaving the party behind, said Bihar BJP president Mangal Pandey.
Through the contemporary exercise, Modi will be addressing the huge crowd which is first of its kind, said Mr Pandey adding that the video-conferencing will take place for an hour from 6 pm.
Each group comprising 500 BJP workers of different levels, will have five persons who would be talking to Modi while others would be listening to the conversation, said Mr Pandey. The first group will include state working committee members besides district party office bearers while the second will have district and block level presidents and the third is expected to have party members at panchayat level and those belonging to social organizations, said the state BJP leader.
Modi admitted that only organizational workers could take part in the interaction programmes. BJP senior leaders including leader of opposition in Bihar Assembly Nandkishore Yadav and former Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi will not be involved, said Pandey.
Modi is set to address the large crowd in Bihar which would be his first mission after JD (U) pulled out of the NDA tie on June 16. The Gujarat chief minister kept himself at a distance from Bihar in 2009 Parliamentary polls as well in 2010 Assembly elections.
While the JD(U) has 20 members to its credit, the BJP has 12 Lok Sabha members from Bihar at present and the Congress has 2 and the rest are Independents.
