Zanjeer trailer : Ram Charan plays a rugged cop

Mumbai, July 5 (): The trailer of the much talked-about movie Zanjeer is finally out. Zanjeer is the remake of the 1973 Amitabh Bachchan movie of the same name. Directed by Apoorva Lakhia, the trailer shows the movie would surely be an out-and-out action entertainer.

Zanjeer stars southern actor Ram Charan Teja, Priyanka Chopra, Sanjay Dutt, Atul Kulkarni and Mahie Gill in the leading roles. Son of Telugu superstar Chiranjeevi, Ram Charan will reprise the role of Vijay Khanna, originally played by megastar Amitabh Bachchan.

Zanjeer is Ram’s debut movie in Bollywood, which has all the ingredients of a masala entertainer laced with action and romance.

Similarly, Priyanka Chopra essays the character played by Jaya Bachchan and Sanjay Dutt plays the role Sher Khan, played by Pran in the original film.

Though the trailer of Telugu Zanjeer, titled Toofan, was out in March, the Hindi trailer is out only now. Surprisingly the Hindi version is not so different from the Telugu promo.

The trailer looks quite promising with lots of action and explosions. Ram Charan Teja walks out of the police station in full style in Khaki. Even though he does not look as graceful as Amitabh Bachchan, he definitely looks dynamic. The rigid frame of the actor also suits the role of a police officer and in the action sequences he certainly looks lethal as well as cool.

Sanjay Dutt has played his character Sher Khan, which was played effortlessly by the legendary Pran in the original. Sanjay impresses us with his elegant act and powerful dialogue delivery. His dialogue, “Mai beimaani ka kaam bhi imaandaari se karta hun”, can easily remind the audiences of Pran.

Priyanka Chopra has done a modern girl role, not similar to Jaya Bachchan. The actress looks hot in the film especially with her sleek straight hair.

Directed and produced by Apoorva Lakhia, Zanjeer and its Telugu version – ‘Toofan’ will be released on September 6.
