Mumbai, July 4 (): This Friday witnesses the release of two Bollywood films Ranveer Singh and Sonakshi Sinha’s period drama ‘Lootera’ along with Sanjay Dutt’s ‘Policegiri’.
Lootera is based on the short story ‘The Last Leaf’ written by O’ Henry. Directed by Vikramaditya Motwane, the movie stars Ranveer Singh and Sonakshi Sinha in lead roles. Sonakshi Sinha plays the role of a Bengali girl Pakhi, whereas Ranveer Singh plays the role of archaeologist Varun in the film.
Audience are expecting Lootera much as the reputation earned by Motwane after ‘Udaan’ gives them a hope for another well-crafted film. After seeing the special screening of Lootera held for the Bollywood A-listers, the celebrities are praising the movie as they were moved by the movie. Also, even before its release, Lootera is trending on the charts for its music.
On the other hand, Sanjay Dutt’s ‘Policegiri’ also hits the screens on the same day. Directed by K S Ravikumar, the action comedy stars Sanjay Dutt and Prachi Desai in lead roles.
Sanjay Dutt plays the role of DCP Rudra, who gets transferred to a new city which has a high crime record and Rudra tries to bring all the crime under control in the city. Prakash Raj plays the local mafia Nagori Subramaniyam in the film. Om Puri also plays an essential role in Policegiri.
‘Policegiri’ is the first release of Sanjay Dutt since his stint at the jail. The actor was convicted for illegal possession of arms in the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts case.
Sanjay is unable to promote the film as he is completing his three-and-a-half-year jail sentence, Sanjay Dutt’s wife Manyata has urged his fans to watch Policegiri. At the special screening of the movie on Tuesday, Mayanta said that they would feel good if they would watch the film as the film was very close to Sanju.
