Bangalore, July 1 (): Actor Vijay Raghavendra has emerged as the winner of the Bigg Boss Kannada Season 1, beating the other final contestant Arun Sagar on Sunday.
Vijay and Arun Sagar were the two finalists left after the two other final round contestants; Narendra Babu Sharma and Nikita were eliminated on Saturday.
The grand finale, which was hosted by Sudeep, was dramatic and rather entertaining, with recaps that captured the various emotions of the house inmates over the last 100 days of drama.
Vijay Raghavendra has won a cash prize of Rs 50 lakh, along with the new celebrity status after spending three months in the Bigg Boss house.
Initially, a total of 15 contestants entered the Bigg Boss house, when the show was started three months back. Each and every week, the participants were eliminated by voting. Finally, four contestants were left out to fight for the title – self-styled astrologer and spiritual Guru Narendra Babu Sharma, National award-winning actor Vijay Raghavendra, actor-director Arun Sagar, and actress Nikita.
Vijay Raghavendra was one contestant with the least number of nominations for elimination by other contestants. He very rarely got into trouble or arguments with the others and was very popular among others.
He got angry only once in the entire show while the others were involved in fights and arguments often. Vijay is the most worthy winner and the choice would not be opposed by anyone else.
While Vijay received the title at the grand finale in a grand stage, former inmates also took home a set of interesting awards.
The 90-day-long show reaped a lot of popularity among the audience, as big names from Sandalwood were part of the show. The makers claim that it has better TRP (Television Rating Point) than Kannadada Kotyadhipati (the Kannada version of Kaun Banega Crorepati) except for a few episodes.
